Psychotherapy:

Establishing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of any successful medical treatment.  Though medication can be an important component of treatment, it is my belief that a strong alliance and an open line of communication between patient and doctor is crucial.  Developing insight through therapy can help patients identify patterns of behavior that may perpetuate mood and anxiety symptoms.

Psychopharmacology:

In order for psychotropic medication to be prescribed safely and effectively, regular monitoring for side-effects/adverse reactions is necessary.  Depending on the medication, this can include monitoring vital signs as well as blood work in conjunction with a clinical assessment.

Coordination of Care:

To provide you with the best, most comprehensive care it may on occasion be necessary to coordinate with your primary care provider, other mental health provider, nutritionist or, in the case of children/adolescents, relevant school staff.

THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE WITH THE PATIENT/PARENT'S WRITTEN PERMISSION.
